CITL is pleased to announce the publication of its 2017-2018 Annual Report, which details the successes and impacts of the Center's first year of programming on campus.
Looking ahead, CITL aims to make UC Santa Cruz a leader in 21st-century higher education teaching and learning. CITL thus seeks to grow its current scope to establish a brick-and-mortar Center on campus with a staff of professional developers with specialties in key areas of higher education pedagogy:
Equity and Inclusion: Supporting the academic success of our university’s diverse and vibrant student body
Active Learning: Encouraging high levels of active student engagement to promote more effective learning in the classroom
Curricular Design: Redesigning courses and academic programs to better achieve student learning goals
Teaching with Technology: Matching course and curricular goals with technological tools that can enhance student learning
Teaching Innovation: Growing and expanding the campus’s initiatives in project-based, research-rich, and community-based learning
Preparing Future Faculty: Giving every graduate student who teaches at UC Santa Cruz or may go on to teach elsewhere a foundation in course design, classroom delivery, principles of inclusion, and assessment of learning
Student-to-Student Learning Support: Developing a network of advanced undergraduates with a foundation in learning science, who can support every new UCSC student, four-year or transfer, to become an outstanding learner during their time on campus
